The SoCal PKAL network is one of many of the Project Kaleidoscope networks from across the country. You can read more about these networks at the PKAL web site at http://www.aacu.org/pkal/regionalnetworks/index.cfm. Our network includes scientists from the Claremont Colleges, University of LaVerne, CSUF, CSULA, University of Redlands, Whittier College, and CSULB. Please become part of our group and help us collaborate to improve science education across our region!

Welcome to our SoCal PKAL web site!

This is our new web site for the Southern California PKAL regional network. Stay tuned for the latest news about meetings, workshops, funding opportunities, and all things PKAL!

We have been planning a Southern California Regional meeting for January 21, 2012 at Pomona College in Claremont. This meeting will build on our first meeting held at the University of La Verne last February. We hope to bring in some great plenary speakers, a wide range of dynamic and exciting educators (like yourself!) and have a chance to network and learn new approaches to teaching, assessment, and interdisciplinary work.

Our Southern California region has a number of unique challenges, and by pooling our expertise and resources in venues such as the SoCal PKAL network we can better respond to these challenges, and become more aware of what works, and new opportunities.

If you can take a moment – please fill out our SoCal PKAL survey for the January Claremont meeting- please give us suggestions for topics for the meeting and people you think would be good presenters or who would benefit from attending.

Thanks a lot for your participation!
